Typically HTB will give you something over port 80 or 8080 as your starting point from there you will probably get a webshell or a low functioning shell (file upload vulnerability)where maybe you are able to pull down some ssh credentials or find an SMB share on another system. Unlike a normal challenge or machine where you have 1 or 2 flags, Pro labs have many flags and are meant to be worked through as you would a real pentesting or red team engagement. I have an access in domain zsm. HTB main has stuff for all skill levels, with their Easy Boxes being a little harder than PG. HTB Pro labs, depending on the Lab is significantly harder. How long it will take depends on your skill level, and any gaps in your knowledge, plus how much time you have to devote to it every day/week.
